1. BA-3239 Major General Ibne Fazal Shayekhuzzaman, BSP (BAR), SGP, afwc, psc took over the resp of Engineer in Chief, Bangladesh Army on 17 February 2019. The General was commissioned with 16th BMA Long Course in the year of 1987. In his long thirty two years of illustrious career, General Shayekhuzzaman possesses a wonderful mix of command, instructional and staff appointments. Besides, he attended number of courses both in home and abroad. The General is graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Civil Engineering discipline. 2. Among the staff appointments, the General
served as the GSO-3 (Operation) of an Infantry Division, GSO-1 (Foreign Affairs
and Protocol) in Armed Forces Division, GSO-1 (Operation) in Military Operation
Directorate and finally as Colonel Staff of 9 Infantry Division in Savar. In
the instructional capacity, General Shayekh served as Platoon Commander in Bangladesh
Military Academy, as instructor in School of Infantry and Tactics and School of
Military Engineering. The General Commanded two Engineer units and 14
Independent Engineer Brigade. 3. The General participated in The Gulf
War in 1991. He was also closely knitted with the Rana Plaza Rescue Operation.
The General also worked to develop the riverine tactics and riverine capacity building
for Bangladesh Army. 4. General Shayekh was the founding
director of National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC), apex body for
lawful interception. His job purview in NTMC allowed him a working perception
on cyber security. 5. Major General Shayekh is a widely
travelled person. He enjoys reading books. The General is a bonafied blood
donor has donated blood for 55 (Fifty Five) times. The humble general is happily
married with Tanjina Sattar and proud father of Raslaan and Nusaiba. |
