BA-3934 Major General  Iftekhar Anis, BSP, awc, afwc, psc, PEng

Major General Iftekhar Anis, BSP, awc, afwc, psc, PEng took over the responsibility of Engineer in Chief as one of the Principle Staff Officers (PSOs) of Army Headquarters on 21 September 2023. The General did his graduation in Civil Engineering. He achieved the prestigious Professional Engineering (PEng) from the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).

Major General Iftekhar Anis comes from a respectable Muslim family and was born in Dhaka. The General started his schooling at St. Gregory's High School, Dhaka before joining Jhenidah Cadet College. After passing HSC with  colorful result, he joined Bangladesh Army and was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers. In his long illustrious career, he attended number of professional military courses at home and abroad. The General has two bachelors degree and three masters degree including "Master of Strategic Studies' from U.S. Army War College, USA.

As an engineer, he was involved in planning, design and implementation of different national projects for which he was awarded with “Distinguished Service Medal (BSP)”. Major General Iftekhar Anis was directly involved in design and implementation of Bangabandhu Expressway Linked to Padma Bridge and Sheikh Hasina Sarani (300’ Expressway).

The General served in United Nations mission at Kuwait and Ivory Coast. Major General Iftekhar Anis is a widely travelled person, who has visited many countries of Asia, Middle East, Europe, America and Africa.

The General is happily married and blessed with two daughters.
